  1. Does the training guarantee me a job?
  2. No it does not. However, everyone who is taking the course is welcome to apply after they pass the Ministry test.

  3. Do we get a test at the training?
  4. There is a quiz at the end of each day of the course.

  5. Where do I go to get the training?
  6. Intercon Security is one of many training entities authorized to teach the 40 hour course.

  7. How do I pay for the course?
  8. We ONLY accept Visa, Certified Cheque or Money Order made out to Intercon Security Limited

  9. When do I pay for the course?
  10. We must receive your payment the day you are starting your first class. You must arrive 1 hour early to ensure all necessary administrative work is completed.

  11. Can I split my training between the morning session and the evening session?
  12. Due to limited classroom space, you must commit to either the day or evening course. Switching from day to evening or visa versa during the 40 hours of the course is not permitted.

  13. Can I come in to the class after the training has started?
  14. No. You must start the course from the first day according to the Curricula guidelines.

  15. How do I sign up?

  17. Do you offer training on the weekends?
  18. No not at this time. The course is 40 hours and cannot be completed in a weekend.

  19. Can I start this training program before I get my license?
  20. The training program is designed to help you get your license. If you have your license, the training program is not required.

  21. What is on the test?

  23. Can I book an appointment for the test before I do the training?

  25. Can I do the test without doing the training?

  37. Do I get some form of certification after doing the course with Intercon?

  39. I already have First Aid/CPR. Do I need to complete the entire training program or can I be exempt from that part of the training?

No one is entitled to work in the security industry without first having a security license.

There is a 3 step process to getting your security license. They are:

1st step


You have to complete 40 hours of training at an authorized training institution. www.mcscs.jus.gov.on.ca/english/PISG/TrainingandTesting/training_and_testing.html (training website)

2nd step


You have to be tested at a provincial Drive Test Centres www.mcscs.jus.gov.on.ca/english/PISG/TrainingandTesting/training_and_testing.html (testing website)

3rd step

Courses are held Monday to Friday 9am -- 5pm (AM session) / 4pm to 12midnight (PM session)

Official registration is on Mondays at 8am (morning session) or 3pm (afternoon session) at the above address

Method of payment is either by CERTIFIED CHEQUE, MONEY ORDER (made out to Intercon Security Limited) or VISA.
Course fee is $197.75 ($175 + HST).
